Quick Tips

10-Point Quick Tip Checklist

1. Quantity will dictate the most appropriate process economically to use.
    (
E.g.  Low quantity my be best suited for digital output, or silk
screen.  Higher quantity (0ver 1000, may be best for 4 color process)

2. How will your product be used?
(I.e. exterior vs interior, water proof, in stores, short lifespan, long term,
    lifespan, factory environment, etc)

3. What environment will it be used in?  For example, if outside the product
will need to be protected from the elements
(E.g. getting wet from rain,  winds, etc)

4. Ultraviolet Light plays a big part in design.
(E.g. 4 color process colors fade. will product be in direct sunlight?
    florecent light?  storefront?)

5. There are positives and negatives when using silk screening...you need to
know what they are before you place your order.
   (Positives: durability, weatherproof, cost effective on short runs;
Negatives: only 55 lines screen resolutuion, not cost effective for long
    runs)

6. Cardboard can warp - but there are things you can do about it.
(E.g. laminate product on both sides, or substitute with synthetics)

7. Plastic is expensive, and may not be the most economical to use.
(E.g. how permanent is the display, can carboard be usded if the are
    channels to support the product?)

8. If your product will be used outside or within direct sunlight, should you
use UV laminate - and DOES IT WORK?
   (Note: only offers mariginal protection!)

9. There are different kinds of adhesives to consider for affixing graphics
to a substrate backing - These include: permanent, static, and temporary.
Choosing the right one will insure that your product will not break down or
fall apart - again depending on how your product will be used, handled, and
what it will be exposed to.
(I.e. certain glues only work on plastic, and some only on paper...make sure
to ask us when putting together your order!)

10. Should you consider a fade-resistant material to protect your product?
     Will it work?
(E.g. When in direct sunlight...silk screening is
                            recommended!)
